This 1979 Porsche 911 930 Turbo is a Rest of World-spec model, meticulously restored to its original condition. Finished in the rare Petrol Blue Metallic—a color first released in 1978—this car combines heritage with prestige, having won 1st place in the 2021 Porsche Concours D’Elegance in South Africa in the D’Elegance class. Its extensive restoration was completed with precision, utilizing parts from well-known suppliers and ensuring its mechanical and aesthetic integrity. With 790 KMs on the rebuilt engine and located in Dubai, we are proud to offer this phenomenal Whale Tail Turbo.

Restoration Overview

• Body and Paint: A bare-metal respray was conducted in its original Petrol Blue Metallic including paint protection and was completed by Goldstar Autobody. The car was assembled by Chad Wentzel’s SportTech out of Johannesburg
• Engine and Gearbox: Completely rebuilt by WR Aircooled Automobiles, with parts sourced from Engine Builders Supply Co (now EBS Racing). The engine has covered 790 kilometers since the rebuild. The gearbox was professionally installed, ensuring optimal performance. Allan Wallis gearbox rebuild work is also noted.
• Suspension and Brakes: Full overhaul of the suspension and braking system, including parts suspension bushes, brake calipers, and brake shoes. Additional work was done by Safety Brake & Clutch Fitment Centre. Notably, Wiper Blades (front and rear) and related systems were also replaced during this process.
• Cooling System: New radiators and associated components were sourced and fitted by Green’s Radiator Service.
• Interior: Full reupholstery of the interior by F Gomes Upholsterers, restoring it to factory standards with high-quality materials.
• Additional Parts and Services:
  • Distributor remanufactured by Distributor Remanufacturers SA.
  • Pro CV & Steering worked on drive shafts and steering systems.
  • Hydraulic components sourced and installed by Rudman Hydraulics and Eden Machine Hydraulics CC.
  • Battery Motors were replaced and services performed by Helllo Auto Electrician.
  • Minor parts, including turbo fasteners, clutch pedal springs, and other fittings, supplied by Turbo Fasteners and EBS Racing.
  • Oil, fluids, and filters, such as Shell HX7 10w40, used across various services.
