2005 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG 4MATIC Prototype

This 2005 Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG 4×4, finished in a bespoke Pantone 293C blue, is a one of three prototype examples of the iconic G-Class, originally commissioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in collaboration with AMG to build the first right hand drive G55 AMG examples. Of the three in existence, one is in the Mercedes-Benz Museum while the other two are currently in Dubai. With only 169 kilometers on the odometer, this special-order vehicle remains in near-new condition, perfectly preserved and maintained. The vehicle features a right-hand drive configuration, likely tailored for His Highness’ travels in the United Kingdom, adding a layer of exclusivity to its already significant provenance.

The three commissioned prototypes were the first examples produced of the G-Class in RHD with the conversion performed in-house by the AMG team. The vehicle’s exterior is accentuated by AMG 18-inch sport rims wrapped in 285/55 R18 tires, high-grade steel lower body protection, and an electric sliding/lifting roof.

This is one of three prototype G55 models that were commissioned by AMG to be converted to right hand drive in the AMG facilities. The seller states this car is one of the first right hand drive G55 AMGs in the world.
